I’m always on the lookout for patterns I can use with my woven fabric stash and this pattern checks all the boxes: It’s a quick sew, ridiculously comfortable, and makes all my Pinterest dreams come true! I was lucky enough to test for the women’s version of the Saffron pattern from Petite Stitchery and I’ve basically been living in it as much as possible while the weather is still nice.

From the Petite Stitchery website:
The Women’s Saffron Crop, Top, & Dress is the perfect quick-sew woven garment for year round wear! Saffron is available in Women’s Xs-4X and has of tons options to get you through any season! Check out some of these features:
-Three sleeve lengths: Short, 3/4, and Long Sleeves
-Four skirt lengths: Crop, Top, Mini Dress, Knee Length Dress
-Full coverage button back or no-closure scoop neck
-Solid front bodice or color blocked front bodice
One of the best things about this pattern is the number of features! You can pick and choose different options with each make giving you tons of flexibility. This pattern also comes in baby and kids sizes which means endless mommy and me options. If you’re looking for outfits for family photos, this may be the answer and you’ll get plenty of wear after pictures too.
I made size XS based off my bust measurement and also made a 1″ small bust adjustment which eliminated the dart. I love the look of a back detail so I went with the scoop back and I love it! It doesn’t show my bra strap or feel like it’s slipping off my shoulders which can be a problem sometimes with scooped backs. I’m 5 feet tall and the mini dress length hits me right above the knee which I think is perfect. The pockets are also functional as well as beautiful and I’ve already gotten tons of use out of them. This final version was made with a Robert Kaufman essex linen blend which I’m absolutely loving right now.
I only test for patterns that I would purchase regardless so this was a treat for me and I am so grateful I was able to be a part of the tester group. It’s pretty cool to see myself on their home page too, because it means the vision in my head actually translated. I’m so excited to make more versions of this pattern including a full back and midi dress length or top for cooler weather.
