I finally added a classic black knit tee to my wardrobe! This has been on my list of projects since I first started my handmade wardrobe, but it was never a high priority due to its simplicity. Well, the time has come and I finally have a post to share too!
*This fabric was provided to me for free as a member of the Minerva Makers team. All views and opinions are my own.
Being a simple top doesn’t make this any less important. I need to remember that, because I am definitely someone that wears more t-shirts and neutral colors than anything else. That’s one reason why I decided to be more intentional in choosing projects. I wanted to make more pieces I knew I’d get a lot of wear from. This tee easily meets my goals.
Another shift I wanted in my making process was to challenge myself with more knits. This top easily met that challenge and you can see that I made more knits in the last year than in the previous year. If you’re looking for a knit pattern to start with, I’d highly recommend this raglan style top.
For this top, I used the Elliot Sweater/Tee pattern from Helen’s Closet. You can see my full pattern review in my Minerva post. Head over there to see all the pictures and sizing details! Be sure to give me a follow and let me know what you think.
Do you sew with knits? What is your favorite tee pattern?
