You know it’s going to be good if you’re super excited just by the idea of it! That’s what this matching outfit was for me. I needed a bit of a sewing pick-me-up and making a matching separates set was the perfect thing.
*This fabric was provided to me for free as a member of the Minerva Makers team. All views and opinions are my own.
For this set, I made two patterns I’ve had on my list since their release: the Ashtop Top pattern from Helen’s Closet and the free Pocket Skirt pattern from Peppermint Magazine and Paper Theory. Both were super easy and fun to make and I would highly recommend them for any skill level.
This fabric is Art Gallery cotton poplin from the Sweet ‘n Spooky collection. The print is called Wicked Broomsticks and is technically a Halloween fabric, but I think it’s great for year round wear too. I’m pretty sure this is my first time sewing with poplin and I loved how crisp it was for these patterns. The wrinkles weren’t as easy for me to get out, but I don’t mind them.

Have you made either of these patterns yet?
