I’m working my way through the Peppermint Magazine Sewing School patterns! This time, I made the Loungewear Set by Common Stitch Patterns using this cotton crinkle gauze fabric from Minerva. I’m on the fence with this fabric and pattern combo though so hopefully it’ll get more wear once summer comes back around.
*This fabric was provided to me for free as a member of the Minerva Makers team. All views and opinions are my own.
The Peppermint Magazine Sewing School resources have been a go-to of mine as of late. I love the free patterns and the chance to try out different indie designers in simple styles. This time around, I made the Loungewear Set by Common Stitch. I haven’t used a Common Stitch pattern yet so this was a good way to try them out. They’re an Australian-based company focused on sustainability. All the measurements (like seam allowance, etc) were listed in metric with no imperial conversions. Not a huge deal, but something I haven’t noticed much before.
The pattern is actually a pretty quick make and could definitely become a staple. The instructions were easy to follow and I think the fit for the most part is pretty good. It is definitely an oversized fit, but I didn’t find it overwhelmingly so. My fabric choice isn’t ideal since it’s a bit sheer and unpredictable, but I would definitely want to make this pattern again with a different fabric.
More pictures and all my thoughts on this make including all the sizing details can be found on my Minerva post. Check it out and let me know what you think!
Have you made this pattern yet? What did you think?
