My Stitch Fix #2 – May Review |
My second Stitch Fix arrived this week! I have to say that I’m super impressed with their timely deliveries. This one arrived on the exact day it was scheduled once again. When I opened the box to reveal the tissue wrapped items, I was a little shocked to see a bright neon color peeking through. (I’m a big neutrals kind of girl so I was hoping the rest of my Fix looked okay.) Lo and behold, this month’s fix is even better than last month’s.
Recap on how it works:
1) Fill out your Style Profile and schedule your first Fix.
2) Use your Pinterest board to your advantage! Pin what you love/hate and make notes. (Check out my board HERE.)
3) Get your Fix in the mail and decide what to keep and what to send back in the prepaid envelope.
4) Make notes on what you loved/hated in the Fix so your stylist knows for your next Fix.
5) Use the $20 stylist fee toward anything in the box. Keep it all and get 25% off everything.
This time around I changed my Style Profile preferences around just to see what would happen. Last time, I checked $50-$100 range for all categories and ended up with 3/5 winners. One of which I kept. I’m still regretting not keeping the other two, but that’s to be expected to stay within my budget. Keep in mind my goal was to build up my wardrobe piece-by-piece. I never expected to like more than one item. I decided to change it up this month because I wanted to maximize how many items I could keep, I decided to lower my price point to “cheaper the better” for every category. (I opt out of receiving accessories since I can easily find those on sale elsewhere.)
Sweet Rain – Alamo Crew Neck Blouse $44 (size small) |
This was where that neon color was coming from. I thought it was a skirt at first before I unfolded it to reveal this colorblocked sleeveless blouse. I really love colorblocking and this bright neon is great for the warmer weather. I absolutely love the button details on the back. It is sheer which means I had to grab a nude tank top to wear underneath. Overall, I am obsessed with this right now and think it would be an awesome addition to my summer wardrobe.
Market & Spruce – Corinna Striped Dolman Top $48 (size small) |
Stitch Fix posted a pic of someone wearing this top in a different color the same day I received it in the mail. I saw the pic first before seeing this in my Fix. I love how it was styled in the pic so I can definitely see myself wearing this. I love how soft and comfy the material is and the fit is perfect.
Pixley – Meryl Tulip Print Sleeveless Blouse $54 (size small) |
Everything about this top is calling my name. The grey and white, the pattern, the pintucked details… I don’t usually go for necklines like this one, but I do love it on this blouse. This one fits a little looser under the arms than the colorblocked blouse which means I’d have to wear a tank top underneath (which I’d probably do anyway). I can definitely see myself wearing this for just about any occasion though and I do love the material.
Ezra – Nawny Tiered Back Knit Top $48 (size small) |
This top has an interesting hem and back that I am not 100% in love with. I like the hem, but the back seems to be a bit too much for my taste. I expected this to have some stretch to it, but it doesn’t. It’s a bit too tight in the sleeves so this is definitely going back. If it was stretchier though, I could definitely picture this with some skinny jeans.
Just Black – Connely Skinny Jean $78 (size 0P) |
Since I was so love in with the jeans from my last Fix, I asked for something similar again. These Just Black skinny jeans are a great fit in terms of length, but I don’t love them as much as the last pair. They definitely don’t fit as well around the waist and they’re a bit too tight for me. I am already having to pull them up because it slips down too much in the back. I’m also not a huge fan of black jeans so these are also going back.
1. Return 2. Contender 3. Contender 4. Return 5. Contender |
Overall, this month’s Stitch Fix was another success. I have 3 strong contenders out of 5. Depending on how my budget is doing, I would love to keep them all. I have to say that I am really enjoying all the unique items I’ve been seeing in my Fixes. I requested some skirts this time around, but my stylist wasn’t able to fulfill my request. I was disappointed at first, but I am so happy with all the other items that I really don’t care anymore. I had a new stylist this time, Jessee, and I loved her picks so I will be requesting her again.
UPDATE: I decided to keep #5 which was the striped dolman top. As much as I loved #2 and #3, I decided #2 was too trendy and too sheer to justify adding that to my new wardrobe and #3 was just a tad too big.
