August is finally here and I can’t believe that the summer is almost over. I feel like it’s just begun.
My handmade shop is open for business finally. I’ve been working on it all summer long and I’m glad I finally finished up. But then school is starting soon, so I’m starting to have anxiety attacks all over again when I think about all the things I need to get done once school starts.
Jadon has one more week left of swimming lessons. He finally adjusted to it and enjoys playing in the water with his friends, but it’ll be over soon. His school’s orientation is coming up and then he’ll begin his last year of preschool. Let’s hope he adjusts easily to that. I can’t believe he’s almost ready for Kindergarten. He’s definitely growing up.
Isabelle is also growing up so fast! She still isn’t walking yet or standing by herself, but she is showing lots more interest in walking while holding our hands. She has stood up by herself for a few seconds here and there, but doesn’t do it much. She also is signing like crazy! She learned the sign for “no” today while also saying “no” at the same time.
Andrew is working like usual and being the fun daddy he is. He’s actually joined me in watching “So You Think You Can Dance” this season and actually enjoys most of it. His favorite is Lauren right now I think, now that Billy is gone. I like Robert, but Kent and Lauren are good too. Andrew’s currently entertainingly growing himself a beard. Hey, this is what he gets to do while working at home all the time. I actually don’t mind it and wonder how long he’ll keep it before he decides to shave it.
As for family news, we’re thinking about getting a new car. Our current Honda Civic is pretty tight and we’d love to have more space in general, especially more cargo space for those trips to Costco. Playing Costco Tetris with the trunk of the car every time is not exactly fun. We were actually all ready to go start the process of buying a Subaru Forester, but then got cold feet since it’s not too different in terms of space of what we have now. I’ve always wanted an SUV, but the minivans have pretty cool features too. I just don’t know if I could do it though and be a minivan driving mom. No offense to those who do. I just never thought I’d drive one. There are so many different options out there that it gets overwhelming.
August is a fun month, but it also means the end of summer for me. I guess I’ll just have to enjoy what I have left before school starts up again. Thanks for reading.
